Really? You really think that's a statement I stand behind? I realize we don't all spend a lot of time following each other's musings all over this forum, but this one seems obvious.

Of course fucking defense needs assloads of cuts. But no one on here seems particularly willing to. And if they are they qualify it with "Well you have to cut WELFARE (note the ambiguity) before you can touch American's big dick, even if there is waste in the defense system."

It's like watching fucking 3rd graders negotiate.

This board is big talk about cutting spending until you talk about spending what they like. At that point, they require you to cut the hell out of the spending for what they hate before you cut the spending for what they like bit a small amount.

I say cut the everloving fucking hell out of all of it.

Disclaimer: I think that cutting tuition assistance is bullshit, but it's also the result of our inability to come to terms with meaningful cuts.

Ok that's what I thought. Yeah even when I worked for a defense contractor, I refused to write a congressman to fight cuts and the sequester despite emails from higher ups for support. I won't sell out that much.

The military has been hit extremely hard with budget cuts recently, so how about we trim the fat on some other expenses?

Here in AIT, the cadre are preparing to get their licenses to operate the buses. The civilian employees are being cut. Plus, now if you need to go to the hospital (as an let soldier) they are going to be taking you in a HMMWV wearing full kit.
