what is a proper tip for a taxi

I don't know how they get paid so I don't know what's fair. I usually tip a hair stylist 8 bucks or so and a waiter or waitress 30 percent at minimum. My cab was 40 bucks I gave him 7. Did I stiff him?

That's a big 10-4; over.

I have my ugly dome manicured by sport clips finest and the last thing I want is some hot little vixen taking an all out assault on my precious locks as retaliation for a sub par tip. (they put notes next to your name on who tips well or not in the computer) and as stated by many in the tipping thread a while back, I also have waited/ bartender so there is some sympathy there.
