EB 635 @ Preston underpass

Any body know what those cameras are for? Its low light so I noticed the damn camera flashes from all of the cars passing under. There were pads like what you see at the NTTA quick cash booths.

Any ideas?

Probably just a TxDOT traffic camera.

Speed cameras were shot down by the legislature as far as I know, which is odd considering TxDOT provides speed data on traffic flow for each monitoring point.

maybe its some kind of camera that can gauge hwy traffic congestion. it can give an indication of traffic speed by how many cars pass through and hopw fast. just a guess

Maybe its a traffic cam for the news? Do they just pull a txdot feed for those shots in the morning?
