Verizon here. My wife gave up her Samsung Galaxy for the Iphone and is miserable with that piece of shit. Of course I remind her everyday how awesome my Samsung Galaxy is.

Don't get a thunderbolt, I'm on my second one (warranty) and this one will just randomly decide to drain the battery. I will barely use it some days and it's dead by lunch, others I will use it heavily and last all day.

I'm sure you've done your homework, but my buddy has one with not that many problems. Just recommend checking apps. I use titanium to just freeze their crap apps that come with it.

To OP - honestly, coming from a Blackberry a Android or iPhone will be like a super computer in your pocket in comparison.

Personally, I'm a Android fan for myself - but when the wife comes up I'll probably get her an iPhone. They each have numerous pros/cons and it's hard to say what's best for you exactly - you can't really go wrong either way.

Might be that 4g coverage. Dim the lights down and make sure all apps are closed.

Just ordered my wife an iPhone4 from Verizon for $49. May not be the latest and greatest, but as someone mentioned above: it's all relative. Coming from a Blackberry to either iOS or Android will feel like you've leaped forward 10 years in technology. You'll be shocked when you download apps and they actually work.

my wife has the regular samsung gs 2 with wifi and she loves it...it works fine
