  • Has anyone tried Maker's Mark 46 yet?

Thoughts? We're overdue for a whisky/whiskey thread, anyway.

Yeah, I have half a bottle in the cabinet. I won't go out of my way for it, but it's good.

Granted, I bought it when I was on more of a scotch kick. Lately since I've gravitated back to the corn stuff, I haven't had any. I'll pour a glass tonight and give you a more bourbon minded review.

I just bought a bottle of Makers 46 last week and to me, it has a very sweet sugar taste to it, its good straight on the rocks or with coke how I prefer it.

Not a bad buy by any means but I probably wont buy another bottle anytime soon.

Thanks, fellas. Side question: Should I sell a gun and buy a bottle of AH Hirsch?

The 46 is good, but sweet like the regular. I'd buy the small batch of woodford (forget what their "special reserve" moniker is) over it for the same $.

            Depends.
            Which gun?

Oh, and need an invite, post gun sale.

Too bad the 20 year is no longer available anywhere.

This 16 year has great reviews. I noticed there are actually a few Hirsch labels out there, but most others are selling Rye.

An M4gery I built but haven't shot yet. You're always invited to drink with me, man, but this bottle of Hirsch would be saved until my first kid is born. The last time the stills ran was 1974, and this is the last of the bottlings.

They should come back from the grave and give you a squishy zombie punch in the eye.

I've been wondering about this stuff myself, back in college makers mark was my drink. Here lately if I do drink whiskey it has been Knob Creek Single Barrel. I'm no expert all I know is damn it tastes good.

I grabbed a bottle of Booker's to get me through the dry spell that comes from such a rare bottle of George T. Stagg and it tasted cheap as compared to when I first got into this bourbon thing.

I enjoyed it, but nowhere near like I did when you first posted up about it a while back.

Stagg takes the lead, in my opinion. However, I also drink mine straight. All of the reviews online say Stagg needs a few drops of water, with mineral water being suggested by some.
