I bet that stings when you pay $500 for a radar detector and get tagged with the laser. Makes me feel significantly less frustrated when I have my $40 Cobra and get tagged as well. The new detectors even have the sudden on technology and yep, you're still going to get tagged.

Seriously, call it old age or whatever, but unless I am on a loooong straight and flat stretch of road, I don't go more than 10 over. If I get a ticket in those conditions, I deserved it.

As a semi-derail, I was headed out to my Grandparents place in RedRiver NM, driving my cousin's Saturn at about 100-105ish, and as I'm coming up the next hill I get this gut feeling to let off. I do and the drag from the hill has me topping it at about 70ish, and right at the bottom is NM DPS with his gun pointed. No radar/lidar detector involved, I just didn't feel right.

Thinking back it wasn't a gut feeling, common sense says that you don't fly over a blind hill at 3 clips, ever.
