Anyone on here purchase anything from Silenced America recently?

A good friend of mine purchased his first suppressor from them in February and was told that the suppressor was in stock. From what he explained to me he believed that the suppressor he purchased was in hand the day he purchased it at the Carrollton store. Being his first NFA purchase he was eager to get his Form 4 back so he emailed SA to see if he could get an update on the status.

    This was one response:

    From: kat@silencedamerica.com <kat@silencedamerica.com>;
    Subject: STATUS
    Sent: Wed, Aug 6, 2014 6:54:10 PM

    Mr.,

We submitted yours in e-forms but it got stuck in Drafts file and I had to re-do yours as a paper form.
We are having issues with ATF with paper forms. They are cashing our checks but not putting anything in processing.
If you want to continue to wait you can or if you would rather have a refund, I will cancel your order.

    Please advise,
    Kat

I apologize, The ATF called me this morning and told me that beofre they disapprove your form $ that I had to give them another serial number because yours because the serial number that Silencerco gave Scott, well they ended up not form 3'ing that serial number to us.
So I could fix it and give them another serial number but I am out of stock on the Warlocks. Meaning that I cannot fix it easily and I cannot change suppressor to another .22 if you wanted. I would have to start the process all over again if I had other .22 suppressors in stock as well.
So I can go ahead and send you a refund for you because I honestly do not know when I will be getting more of the Warlocks or any other. 22 suppressor in.
I am very sorry about this. This is something I just could not control.

He requested a refund and has gotten his money back. Now SA has closed their Carrollton store.

Just want to give everyone a heads up in case you might have something in limbo also.

That's place went to hell in a hand basket. I bought two cans from them when try first opened up no issues and quite perfect transfers. Roscoe, had issues I'll let him chime in on. After his story and numerous others, never purchased from them again.

Not surprised they closed up the Carrollton shop, but so are a lot of gun stores.

He did that. His money was credited back to him from SA the other day.

I didn't feel confidant km their abilities after I bought my sparrow from them. My transfer turned out fine, but I kinda got the impression the Carrollton store was a fly by night operation, almost like a home based operation that got too big for it's britches. Can't say the closure of that store surprises me. I fully expect them to shut their doors permanently at some point in the future.

If you can operate a FFL successfully in Texas, you are gonna have a hard time selling anything. The fact that they hardly sold guns blew me away ... why ignore a large part of the market?

All of the above. I've seen lots of shops close recently. Just hard to compete against the internet.

yea I use a "buddy" to do my FFL transfers. I feel sorry for him, couple of times he's made comments about how I bought it cheaper than he can get it.

Thats where I thought you were going. Yea small brick and mortar stores are going to have a hard time competing against big boxes, home based, and internet. Too much overhead in a saturated market

Having a storefront gets you bigger discounts and more wholesalers. Most wholesalers want a photo of your showroom and building to make it worth their time to deal with you.

If I can get a customer a gun cheaper I will, but if they can get it cheaper online somewhere I will always point them in that direction. Not that I don't want the business, but I hope that the honesty will help with reputation.

Run as far away from this place as you can as fast as you can. They won't get another penny of my business!!!

I purchased my first can from the SA Carrollton store without a hitch. They made it easy submitted the form 4 for me and everything went pretty smooth other than the address is wrong on my form 4. So I ordered a specwar 762 from them in May of 2013 and an octane 45 in feb of 2014.

In may of 2014 I get an email from them asking for a copy of my Trust. I respond with, you have a copy of my trust as this is now the third can i purchased from you.

The response is we need an soft copy for the e-file process. I was in nyc and didn't expect to be home in 4 or 5 weeks. I don't carry of a copy of my trust on my work laptop so I was like you guys work this shit out among the Carrollton/ And amarillo branch to make sure a soft copy of my trust gets to who it needs to. I also inquire as to why they are waiting over 3 months to submit my form 4 and get no response.

Fast forward to around 3 weeks ago I call the Carrollton store and ask Dustin about the status of the specwar I ordered and I get the following response " I'll have to call the Amarillo store to inquire about your form 4, someone will call you back shortly" and of course I get no call back.
I then email and ask about the Specwar and get the following response

                          I will be honest,
I cannot find anything on yours.
My boss could have the info you need like when it was sent in.
All I could find was your Serial number.
                          SW762-XXXX

You may call ATF on your status.
                          Their number is 304-616-4500

I ask her to inquire with her boss about the submittal dates for the specwar along with the Octane and get no response.

Come to find out these fucks never submitted anything. They took my money and didn't do a damn thing other than spend it.
I ask for a refund my money and get the following response after verifying the amount they owe me:

"I tried refunding to one card and I cannot.
Would you mind terribly if I just send you a check for the whole amount then?
It would be easier and you would get it a lot faster then waiting for it to credit back to your bank account."

                          My Response

I'll accept a cashiers check. I'm not to keen on accepting any sort of non certified funds from SA.
Silenced America has already proven several times that it's not to be trusted.
I'm not taking a chance on wasting more time and money on a check that isn't fundable.

And they promised it will go out today....

So do yourself a favor. Stay the fuck away from this place. They aren't to be trusted to do anything they say they will do. In my book they are thieves plain and simple.

Also please feel free to share this experience all over the interwebz near and far as to warn people of the practices of this place so that no one has to share my Silenced America experience.

They posted some long drawn out thing on their Facebook page. I'm curious as to the statement that they notify your CLEO of the item being delivered to you. I've never heard of such a thing.

Reputation ruined. It blows me away how time and time again companies irresponsibly conduct business.
