  • Best place to order a 22LR suppressor?

Looking to get a SWR Spectre II or a Huntertown Kestrel 22. I started talking with the guys at NC Silencer about ordering one but they seem rather high ($650 for the SWR, $640 for the Kestrel out the door). At that price I would probably be better off ordering and paying for the transfer from out of state. Who have you guys been going through for these?

Trust me and pay the extra money and buy it from a local dealer who has it IN STOCK on a Form 3 or Form 4.

If you dont you will have an even longer wait.

Silencer shop generally is the best priced nation wide and with the largest inventory. Best part is they're in Texas.

I second that buying from someone who has it in stock already! With the BS I had to go through just to finally get mine in so we could send my forms off.

            This.

Buying any other .22 suppressor is tarded.

$640 for the Kestrel? I assume that includes stamp. I hope.

The only time I would recommend buying something other than a sparrow is if it was less. Swr is owned by silencerco and they make good cans also. I have a friend with a kestrel and he paid much less than a sparrow and hes happy.

$650 is with stamp, sales tax, and the can itself for the Sparrow. Not sure its in stock though

I know nothing about suppressors, but I assume there's more to the story than simply decibel reduction? If not, then judging by the video on Silencerco's website, the AAC Element would seem to be the better choice. It was several db's quieter than either model of the Sparrow.

The biggest benefits to the sparrow (and why it's so popular) is the fact it's rated for .22, .22wmr, and 5.7mm. All those in full auto. Also, it has a clamshell design, so you can shoot it as much as you want, and clean it whenever. It's made of stainless so you can use "the dip" to clean it out. Most cans cannot be fired over 500 or 1000 rounds before they must be cleaned or they can't be disassembled.

Well, that makes sense then. Decent sound reduction, plus ease of maintenance.

Here's me shooting CJ's Sparrow on my rifle at 200yds, lol:

It seems like we did that with all kinds of different ammo, and very repeatable results, in crazy winds, for hours.
