  • All time favorite console

Going along with the all time favorite game thread, why not have an all time favorite console thread? Tried searching, and didn't find a topic about this.

New or old it doesn't matter.

Kind of a toss up for me between Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64.
I racked up so many hours of Goldeneye and WWF No Mercy and Wrestlemania 2000 on my N64. But, I also played so many hours of all 3 Donkey Kong Country games on my SNES.

    SNES without a doubt.

    Super Mario World
    Super Mario All Stars
    Super Metroid
    Final Fantasy III
    Donkey Kong Country 1&2
    A link to the past.

Dreamcast is a close second, I had many an hour on that system too.

NES of course, everytime I see one I still get all giddy like I did that christmas in '86.

After that probably the genesis and then maybe the sega cd. I know it was a disaster but seeing sewer shark and that one peeping tom game blew me away.

I had a dreamcast for about 2 weeks. Never had hand cramps like I did trying to play that thing.

I need to get myself an NES. That's the only console I never had as a kid.

          NES

For me, it's a toss up between SNES and PS1. I played the crap out of both of them. Not as much as NES though.

Night Trap was the peeping tom game, it was one of the first sega cd games. It was a college seriority and you were looking at stuff going on and people were trying to break in and you had to set off traps. College girls in skimpy clothes all over the place.

It was filmed like a movie though, same with sewer shark which was another game.

Growing up for me was the N64 and the games I played the most on that console was Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. I still think Goldeneye is the best first person shooter game that Ive played.

Right now, I have a PS3 but I play my xbox alot too. Games for the xbox I play are IndyCar Series 2005 and Nascar Thunder 2004. For the PS3 I only have a few games that I play regularly and those are MW2, Madden 10, Formula 1.

I forgot all about Final Fantasy III. Thing is I didn't play it on my SNES, I played it on an emulator on my PC with a buddy of mine. We would play that nearly every night for hours.

As for the Dreamcast, I don't know what it was about that system. I liked it, but literally only ever played 2 games on it, Sega GT and Crazy Taxi. I will admit that 10 years later I still have it sitting somewhere at my parents house.

Either Snes or the Xbox360, of course the SNES I spent most time on as a kid but I feel like I enjoy the Xbox the most and the games are the best looking yet so that helps.

I have both of those games and they both suck out loud. I have a massive Genesis/Sega CD collection. Here is a picture of one box worth of it. The collection has grown by about 10 games since this and I have another box full.

How many boxes of games do you have? There's only 39 there and I wouldn't call that massive. Now a buddy of mine has every Nintendo and Super Nintendo cartridge ever produced for the US. It's like, 300-400 games. THAT'S massive.
