Could be a few things. Power suppy, MB, CPU. Crack her open and see if you smell anything burned. I'm shooting for the power supply, but I've had MB's go out on my too. Did it just turn off and now it won't come on? If it turned off, will it turn on if it's been cooled off a bit?

Look for bulging capacitors on the motherboard.

Also, unplug the power cord and press the power button for 10-15 seconds, reconnect and try again.
Are there any beeps, can you hear the hard drive spin up? What's the make and model number as well as serial number?

I second the PSU issue. Also check all your connections for your HDD both the power and the data at the drive and the MB.
