That sux man, i feel for you. I hope you get it worked out.

I had the same exact issue with the hacks at Grand Prairie Ford body shop. But shitty progressive insurance thought the repairs were good enough. So i just brought it home and took off the front bumper, fenders, and hood and just did it myself. And i know fucking nothing about body work at all, never done it in my life, and i was able to pull out all their self tapping screws and get it perfectly lined up. fuckin idiots out there.

It's been years ago, but I had a similar experience over there at Classic...in my experience all that place can do is cut some good deals on new cars, but other than that they aren't worth a shit. When I dealt with them they didn't seem competent enough to fix a bologna sandwich. Warranty in the shop and/or ins. work in their body shop.

The cover needs to be fit with an oem(if it is still available) Allsnake is bad about writing junk parts. The quarter is still rolled in and needs to be pulled more. Just talk to the manager as stated if the estimator will not get it fixed. It is a Vantile company and will do what it takes to make you happy.

<--- estimator for 7 years now.

A warning though, f body parts(even oem) have been fitting worse and worse since the guvernment bailed them out.

Really, always thought so. I worked for one of their compainies for a few years and swore they were at the big meetings. It has been a while so I could be wrong. Still my advice should work. At my company our goal is to make the customer happy within reason. I would have never let that car roll out like that.

If that's the way business works, I'll start my own insurance co/ body shop. I'll fix everything with duct tape and a rattle can. When the customer complains, I bring up the fact that their policy didn't specify OEM parts.

Yeah, I only know because my wife works for Van Tyul and I was looking at all the chevy dealerships they own for the silverado I just got. I was checking all their dealerships for the one I wanted.(This is currently, cant say for sure about the past) I couldnt agree more on the work, its pretty sad, but like you said, you arent going to get anywhere running in there on a tirade. People are way more likely to help you if youre nice and approach it with a positive attitude, if not, then its time to work your way up the chain of command.

Gotcha pooter, my bad. My general rule is if you are nice I will give you anything in my power. If you are a dick then all I will do is give the general explinations on why what the insurance bought fits this way, you should know what your policy pays for... etc. The point being, some things are industry standard. The TA is not within them.

Most parts departments will price match a reman bumper cover or come as close as they can so sometimes you can get it for the same cost or you may be able to talk the insurance company into paying the difference if you have tried to go their route unsuccessfully. A well documented and calm dispute will get you further than anything else, trust me on this. If you still find yourself with unsatisfactory work then pm me and I can give you more details on how to handle this. I handle this type of complaint for a living.

Like I've said before, the work speaks for itself and I wouldn't accept it either but don't lose your temper or people will begin to cause you more grief and not take you seriously. And remember, attorneys may help you but they will do the same thing I am telling you and then charge YOU for the difference. If the shop hasn't refused to correct the issue then a attorney is not a good option.

It sucks to be in this position in the first place because someone did a poor quality job. Let me know if I can help. Good luck.

I spoke to them on monday and the guy said they were going to look at it and see what they can do. I was calm and cool, just made it known that I was disappointed and had a few areas of concern. Lets see where this gets me

Cool, you may have to quickly get past the estimator if he doesn't handle your problem but most times the manager will get it done if the estimator doesn't. My suggestion is to make a list of every item you have a problem with if you haven't already done that, that way you can check everything off before you take delivery of it again.

                                Wreck

I have a body shop and Allstate and progressive always undercuts the estimate and on bumper covers they put refurbished covers (which suck). I never use a refurbished cover I either get aftermarket or oem. Get State Farm they are the best to do work for in my area, the adjuster has alot to do with the estimate. Just be nice they may just have crappy workers and usually the manager doesnt even know whats going on in the shop. Looks like they tried to rush the job.
