  • Grammar has no place in our society

As if this site hadn't already made me a believer....

I was in New York City last Tuesday. As I was driving south in Manhattan towards SoHo, I came up behind this delivery van.

The image is shitty, I know. Below the logo, the tag line reads "The Most Effective Thing Our Competition Does Is Make You Think Your Spending Less"

That's right, a major retailer with locations from New York to San Francisco has vans driving around the New York metropolitain area with a glaring grammatical error. I was actually taken back that the marketing department would miss such an obvious error on such an important part of their advertising.

    Gotta love our education system.

Grammar on something like that should matter. Grammar on an internet forum, who cares. Most people are just send a quick reply off of a phone or tablet.

Fuck it up here, you do it when you actually need it to be correct. Similar to only wearing your seat belt or not speeding where you think there might be a cop.

You should really get off your pedal stool.

I think it's more likely that the party performing the actual work on the van fucked it up. Regardless, someone still should have caught the mistake. There's a billboard right at 75 Northbound and the high five for SMU's executive ed programs that used to have errors on it quite frequently.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

They'll all be replaced by "ur" eventually.

Bad grammar anywhere is fine I suppose, if you want to be considered a moron.

Ironically, the phrase is "taken aback".

As I was writing this, I thought about that. I wasn't sure if "aback" was proper or not. My bad
