pole saw recommendation needed

I need to pick something up for cutting back some scrub pines near the roof on my 2nd story. Are electric worth a damn or am I better off with a manual one? HD carries an electric 8' pole ryobi with an 8" bar for $100, but I can get a manual with 18' pole for the same price. Most of the work will be near the house so electric doesn't bother me, and I have a regular saw for stuff farther out back.

If you have a weedeater they sell the pole saw attachments for like $70

I have a 9ft. Ryobi electric pole saw. Works great. It'll cut up to 6" diameter. Just replace the chain every season.
