  • Another excellent install by LoneStar Solar Screens

Well I called them up and they came right out and gave me a really good quote.

They were able to make and install them within 3 days. So quote on Friday, install on Monday. And man do they look good! I told them a good chunk of their business comes from this Forum, so they are looking into a DFWMustangs discount. Total was 14 screens for $702. Now I just need to tackle my flower beds.

I wanted to get this done soon, but didn't think it was that expensive. Was talking to Barbie on here and they had 10 or so screens done on their house for around $200 through the same guys, but it was awhile back. My electric bills are fine, but I like it dark inside.

Did she get framed or unframed? The frames add a lot, but I had no choice (wife)

Probably unframed. I don't need them either.

The ones without the frames just look at bit funny to me.

Eric, if just for the residual (non-direct) light, why not just go with some blackout curtains?

Several of the windows in my house aren't conducive to curtains and I wouldn't want to be opening and closing them all the time anyway.

Solar screens aren't something you open and close are they? They're just always there.

Is Craig not understanding he is questioning his own suggestion? Or am I tarded?

                God bless.

No.. I said that instead of getting the solar screens just get blackout curtains. He said curtains would be hard to open and close all the time. My response was that solar screens aren't going to be "removable", so his point is moot..

Craig, I think you're confusing yourself.

                      It's a distinct possibility lately.

Got these guys to come do my house. Went with the 80%. Nice looking screens and job. No framing, just a center bar, to try and keep the 60's look to the house. Ran $330, they got it done in a few days. Very satisfied.

                          Yes great company!

Half my neighbors used them after I got my house done. I am a frame person for looks and maybe for some help with high wind. Their warranty says they will replace them due to storm damage as well.

I was incredulous at the warranty. Not about to argue with that!

just had them installed on my 3rd house. great company and great product. lone star solar screens did my first house back in 98, drove by and they are still up and although a little faded, still look good.

                              god bless.
