  • FS 36x80" Solid Mahogany Door--$100

Sorry mods, I figure it will get more views here and help someone out who is looking to upgrade their door on the cheap. Let me know if I need to take it down, thanks!

We had a case of vandalism, and the glass was smashed in, with a natty light..bastards. We went ahead and replaced the door. It was purchased through Home Depot, the brand is Main Door. The replacement cost of the door is $1050.

None of the wood is damage, just the glass. Home Depot quoted $175 for the glass with the patina finish. LONG story short, the vandal paid for an entire new door, and we have this one left over. This is a great opPortunity some one of you guys looking to upgrade your door for CHEAP. It is solid wood and is quite heavy. 36x80. I am onkly asking $100. Here are some pictures. It is a beautiful door, just a bit dusty!

No, I woke up at 3am to the sound of a smash and squealing tires. Now we have a beautiful white POS door, waiting for the new one to arrive, you can see the frame of the shitty replacement door in the pics. And builders dont put in solid wood, they usually put in fiberglass. Thanks for the post though.

I have put in several solid wood doors at the request of home-owners. Not one has survived more than 2 years of Texas summer's and winter's without cracking/splitting at their seams. Had one solid mahogany, arched-top, 9' door last less than a year. A $4200 disappointment...

Drill expansion holes and fill with silicone.

Ours is mahogany with glass and an iron grill and is 3x8. It is out of the weather and sun so I hope it last.

If it's covered, it may be just fine. Direct heat-of-the-day sun (I'm talking summer) seems to do the most damage. Try to keep it dry and keep the finish maintained. They are gorgeous, but need attention.

If I had even approached that door with a drill in my hand, he'd have tried to whip my ass. LOL! In hindsight, he might have let me. It made it's own "expansion holes". ;-)

Going on three years (up until vandalism) on this one. It does face directly north though without any sun against it.

We had a builder putting them in also. They almost became as hot of an item as the appliances they were putting in weeks before finishing the houses. They finally got smart and put them in the night of close. The doors well it was hit or miss.
