Your set up is pretty much exactly what I want to build somewhere down the road, minus the zebra carpet.

We have been in the house a little over a year. Everything is great. Our builder really sucked but in the end we came out with a nice place. Where are you building? My brother is building on some land next to me pretty quick. He is waiting on the appraisal to come back.

Over in Savannah off of 380. The kiddos love the fact that there is a waterpark on the property/HOA. Home won't be done until the middle of next year.

I heard they have an area over there with lots that actually have a yard.....any truth to that or are you still gonna be high five-in your neighbor while your taking a shit?

All I've ever heard was all the foundation problems with the houses.

LOL! Yup yards are small for sure. We ended up with a corner lot and are going to build the largest home we can in the developement. We're also gonna rent out our current home in Carrollton/FB, which by the way has a HUGE front and backyard, and let it finish paying for itself... 380 between denton and mckinney is expanding exponentially right now. Jerry Jones owns ALOT of land out there by the tollway/380. At least 2 huge malls, indoor and outdoor, are planned for completion by 2015. Foundation problems... Well this is Texas by the way...
Some Prosper homes for example that were worth 140k just a few years ago are worth more that $300k... I see this as a small investment for the future. Look at what happened in Plano.

That area you speak of, where it flooded, is inside towards the creek... Northeast part of the development. There is a vid on youtube ill try to find of it.

Looking at the history of savanna you are going all about it wrong. Building the largest house in a subdivision is looking at the worst return on investment. Prosper is not the same as to compare to savanna either.

For a start, find an area where your perfect house size meets the minimum restriction they allow in there.

Personally I bought a house in Krugerville. Fairview Farms to be exact. .5-1 acre lots. I spent a lot more than I planned but in the end I'm 110% satisfied and happy with our decision
