  • Anyone wanna help install security cameras?

Went to Altex today and got a security camera/dvr system. Anyone wanna help me install it? 4 camera system, shouldn't be super difficult to install but could use a hand! Pizza, beer, $$$, any takers?

Yeah, but then work gets in the way. It's not bad in the mornings, and the radiant barrier keeps the attic a lot cooler.

Thanks Eric, I'll let ya know. I think I am going to take the easy route to install and use the holes in the eve soffet (sp? or is that even the right word) that let air circulate into the attic. Less drilling, no bricks to jack with and a perfect spot on each corner and by the front door. Then just throw the cable across to the drop tube into my bedroom closet, drop the cables and plug it in.

Well, as my luck would have it, the eves at the corner are nowhere to be seen from in the attic. I dropped a wire thru the one I thought was it, only to find out that was the roof line above the garage, way out of where I can reach... Hmm, next plan.....

Getting closer. Got 2 wires ran so far. Was a lit more of a PITA than I thought it would be. Damn coax from Direct took up too much space in cable tube so I had to pull those out to get these into the closet.

Well shit! Tried to run a cable to the side of the garage where there was a cable tube for cable TV, etc. so I wouldn't need to drill another hole, fucken camera cable is about 2 feet too short!

Getting close! Here's the camera above the driveway. Total pita to mount and run that damn wire thru the wall. The ones by the front door will use the same cable hole, so a little cable will show, but not too bad.

Still have one more to mount and I'm done!

Fractured wrist, broke the ladder, bruised rib... The entire left side of my body fucken hurts! Got a few good bruises and nice road rash from the cement.

Really crappy part was all I had left to do was pull 1 cable back into the attic, it got stuck so I wen t back out front and climbed the ladder to try and poke it back in, wanted one more step to be eye level, ladder went sideways and I landed on top of half it, the rock wall around the flowers and sidewalk.

Damn it's hard to type with just my left hand
