  • Filling expansion joints in driveway with filler?

So my driveway has/had the 1x1 wood fillers stuff into the expansion joints. Half of them have rotted out and I'm tired of weeds growing in the joints. What's a good product to use as a filler to fill up the joints?

i have 5 gallons of commercial sealer they use for saw cuts (costco/sam's etc..) i will have to find the gun it goes into. as long as it is a clean crack this stuff will work great.. and it will be free

There is a caulk thats made for this that is sold at Home Depot. I cant remember what its called, but its in a large Yellow tube. You'll need to use something to fill the cracks some, like backed rod. Its self leveling and works great.

I have seen people use solid round foam strips to fill the void so you don't need as much sealer.

No sarcasm, this is a great thread - never really thought about that problem in my driveway. Now I can fix the problem, I did not know I had this weekend.

That backer foam is a life save for all kinds of things for sure.
