Before you say, "They cant do that cause you might be driving at the time and that would be dangerous." Well, the system will work on "Ignition On / Ignition Off. The car will keep running even though your alloted miles are gone, and then when you shut it off, it will not start again. Just wait, it's coming.

Because it's also one of the most popular calibers to own? It doesn't seem that their goal is making it safe for self-defense. It looks more like a way to keep kids from shooting themselves and others if they stumble across an unsecured gun.

I wonder if they will take all my other guns in as trade for one of theirs?

Most popular all around, sure. Most popular handgun caliber? Nope.

Don't try to change the argument to fit your answer.

I guess I looked over the word "rifle" somewhere in the thread.

You certainly overlooked where I said it was "one of" the most popular calibers to own.

I guess I was wrong in assuming that since the conversation was about a pistol, you were referring to pistol calibers.

So .22 LR isn't one of the most popular handgun cartridges?

No. It isn't. Notice how it is the second least prevalent in the common caliber range. (25 and 32 are not common)

It's #3 and ahead of 380. Where does it rank with 45 and 40?

The ATF doesn't have data on 40 and 45. Up until this year I want to say I was after 380 with a few odd exceptions.

My question is why the hell would your .22 plinker be "unsecured." in my mind the only gun that needs to be ready to rock and roll is your carry/main home defense weapon which I'd hope isn't a .22.
