Exactly. There has even been talk of desalination plants being built to get water from the Gulf. There is even talk of privatizing water utilities. That right there mean will mean high water bills in the future.

I still want 'em to exempt retirees from the stupid land tax. The state gets way too much money. Fucking vehicle taxes and "registration' are utter bullshit. The wife is a nurse and she just had to pay $118 to the state run nursing board for licensing "renewal". For what? WTF do they need $118 for every two years for? It should be $1 tops if they actually have to file some paper in some filing cabinet somewhere. Every time somebody farts the state of TX thinks it needs some money.

Fuck education, we may have to let illegals into the schools but we don't have to pay for them.

If your community isn't willing to pay for it, tough. Time for illegals to have skin in the game

In that my wife is a teacher we'll have to agree to disagree. They should make more.

And yes, they could have chosen a different career path. I really think that it chooses them, many times.

And they really should be paid better, more for what they endure than anything else. Total bullshit the politics that are involved these days...

We don't disagree. When money goes to education it gets wasted on bullshit instead of going to pay for better teachers. That is what happens when you trust the government to manage something. This article offers great examples of that, tell people there is a surplus and the scumbags come out of the woodwork thinking of ways they can spend it. They handle the state government just like they handle their own spending, poorly.

The democrats that were quoted in that article crying about not being able to spend the surplus is classic lol....

The government will generally spend a surplus on pork and bullshit and they will keep coming back for more, threatening to cut police and firemen if they don't get it.

Living in California has been eye opening to this sort of crap. The takers here far exceed the makers. I'm just waiting for the state to collapse.

You got the very first step this morning with the 4Q contraction in GDP. If we get a real recession on our hands California and Illinois will have to go bankrupt.

This is exactly what I was referring too in post #13. The problem is that it rarely goes to the teachers. The fucking administrators absorb it for their own projects/pockets.

If you want to see a great example of that in action just look at New Jersey and how many school districts they have. It also follows into their overall government with the state, county, township and city structures. They have layers and layers of idiots who add no value to the process, all they do is cash checks.

I used to work for Carrol/South Lake I.S.D. and talk about waste, it was crazy!! Waste money all over the place, but send out buses that are unsafe for kids to ride in just because the shop formeman didn't like the driver.
Annoying people, one post at a time!

Obama will likely deem California "too big to fail" and bail the state out. Yes, it's a reprehensible thought that state carelessness/largess would be "taken care" of by the makers in other states.

Sorry, i just live here with future plans of getting out LOL.....

My old high school who sucks at football by the way spent millions of dollars building a new high school football stadium. Trust me they could have better spent that fucking money elsewhere.
