Man that is a awesome rate.

China needs to create over 1 million jobs a month. A slight slow down will kill them, a big one will slaughter them.

China's situation is getting worse by the day, their inflation and wage growth is the best thing we could ask for when it comes to getting manufacturing back to the US. It will happen eventually.

You say that, but how? They are willing to make and sell a ball cap that retails for $25 here for under $1 (09 pricing).

I don't see how textiles, plastic molding, or any other form of light manufacturing could ever come back to this country. The population increase they have over time will only further lower/depress wages.

It won't be long before we see the biggest induction of middle class that the world has ever seen. These fuckers want the American Dream for themselves too. Unfortunately, since the average household income is roughly $2200, they're going to have to do one of two things (if not both).

          Demand higher wages

Go balls deep in personal debt

BTW, China is about to see a housing bubble worse than what we had. Talk about a roller coaster ride without a swing back up!

The most real to life lesson I learned about the economy didn't come from my college econ classes but came from my dad.

He use to say the definition of recession is when your neighbor losses his job....Depression is when you lose yours.

What's the FED going to do? What's gov't going to do?

The economy is in a slow recovery, but the gov't may crush it entirely if we let it.

Why not? They basically threw in the towel and said there is nothing that can save this crap when they froze rates this low for 2 years, right?

Doesn't that take a lot of the guessing out of the game? Remember when you had to see what was going on to find out what the Fed was doing with rates?

The way I look at it is that they don't see things improving enough in two years to need to raise rates. Of course, they could just go back on their word if things did improve. I don't think anyone would be upset, lol.

Buffett's 2Q report came out today, he bought Wells Fargo, Mastercard and Dollar General in the 2Q. He is also building a secret position in a company that has yet to be revealed.

I bought Wells Fargo and was convinced that Family Dollar was the better stock, although I don't own it or Dollar General and haven't researched either to any great degree. I'm interested to see what this secret position is, I'm wondering if it is a major bank that is selling at 40% of book value.
