  • Warranty Question

I bought my car from a Ford Dealership in Houston. It was a certified pre-owned unit. They explained to me that CPO included an extended warranty (through Ford I believe) and was included in the asking price. I didn't think about it at the time, but can the extended portion of the warranty be removed and if so, is that something that would result in some sort of refund or credit? I forgot to ask them at the time I bought it, but I most likely will be modding my car heavily once the factory warranty expires. I won't have much use for the extended warranty.

I know I didn't buy my car from you guys, but thought I would just pick your brains on the subject! Thanks in advance!

Depends on whether the car was just certified or if you paid extra to have the CPO warranty(powertrain) upgraded to BTB. If you purchased the big daddy warranty, that portion should be refundable pro rata back to you. The basic powertrain CPO warranty is not.

No, I did not pay extra for a BTB warranty. I believe their explanation was the CPO status extended the drivetrain warranty to 100k miles. Not really of value to me, but sounds like that's non-refundable nonetheless.
