  • 63 Ford Falcon, What would you do?

I picked this little guy up at Christmas with the intention of a cruiser. 170 straight six, 3spd. My only plans for it were to lower it a few inches and get rid of the chrome wheels.

Well the little 2.77 3spd let go on my way home. So in went a T5 which snowballed into a new driveshaft, 8" 5 lug rear end and 5 lug front spindles and brakes.

Followed by a 2-3" drop and late model wheels.

Now the dilemma, I am not sure if I can leave it alone. Here are my thoughts.

Leave it as is, air ride or Gasser style?

    What do you think?

Here it is when I bought it.

    As it sits now.

    Air Ride concept (MS Paint)

Or Gasser style? (Again MS PAint)

If you go gasser style it's going to be way more expensive/time consuming of a build. Then after it's done you could hardly enjoy driving it anywhere.

I think it looks pretty nice as is honestly. Maybe bring it down a half coil in the front.

Gasser's look awesome but aren't real street friendly. Leave it as is and just add a mild motor.

Looks great as is. Id just drop a 302 in it, now that you already swapped in a T5, 8" rear and 5 lug. Still be a nice cruiser and easy/cheap to tinker with later if you want more. I love gassers, but that car still looks great as is right now.

                Id roll it as is.

Give it to me and I'll decide what direction to go.....After years of enjoyment. Always had a soft spot for the falcons.

I think it's really cool now. My opinion is that now it's already a good cruiser, so just leave it alone and focus your money, talent, and time on a more desirable ride than a roundbody Falcon.

I've seen lowered kustom style applied to that vintage that look great. If you try to go muscle with it, it doesn't work like a 64+ would. Personally, if I were to get any falcon, it'd be like yours, low, with a bass boat flaked roof. Done,

Maybe drop it another inch or two. That is all I would do to it. I'd go conventional to keep it cheap, too.

Go to youtube and look up the "Strange Bird Falcon." You'll dig it.

Leave it. Give it some reliable V8 power and drive the tires off of it.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
