Flying to Mexico City tomorrow

Pretty sure there hasn't been a single reported shark attack in Mexico City either.

But he said he is going to the coast, so it depends on which side he goes to. Puerto Vallarta is on the pacific side, which means you can encounter very large and predatory species of shark. Veracruz is on the gulf side which means a far less chance of large sharks, but there have been 9 reported attacks, 4 of which were fatal.

Toured some cool pyramids outside Mexico city yesterday and took an over night bus to Puerto Escondido. Took about 13 hours but I slept for about 10. It was by far the nicest bus I've ever been on. Just got checked in for $15 a night.

I haven't seen any races. In Mexico city we are staying in down town so there is a lot of traffic. Here in PE everyone drives about 15 mph

With me graduating in 2 months, this will be my final Spring Break. I didn't do shit for my other two, and I doubt I'll have a solid week off from life for a long time.
I bought a round trip ticket to Mexico City. Leaving tomorrow and coming back in 9 days. I haven't planned a single thing yet, we plan to just play it by ear. I booked a hostel in the city for the first two nights (for like $16) and then we will probably bus to Acapulco or Puerto Escondido and hang out.

Everyone I've mentioned this to thinks I'm a total moron and am absolutely going to get kidnapped. Everyone.

This time tomorrow I should be having a margarita on the hostel's rooftop bar.
Should be a little different than your average spring break trip.

I'm going with an old Army buddy.

As a Mexican I have to tell you DON'T FUCKING GO. But if you insist its safer than the northern parts of Mexico. The worst that can happen in el DF is that you will get kidnapped "express" style.

If you get in on the engineering side you will get 4-5 weeks vacation a year right off the bat, so taking a week off is possible.

^glad I didn't do some typical spring break shit. 6 people wasted in Cancun.

Just spent two days in Oaxaca. Pretty cool mountain town that's actually pretty chilly. The bus ride here from Puerto escon was insane. We leave tonight to return to Mexico city and fly out Sunday morning.

I've had zero bad experiences, and haven't one time felt unsafe.
Spent a little bit more than I expected but I've had a good time so far.
