It's quite possible, but obviously, it doesn't mean crap until I do it. Lord willing, video to come.

I have no idea, I've heard he has a 600rwhp race motor now, but then I've already heard he's running a 450rwhp LS3 (BS), so I don't know for sure.

I'm loving the poly bushings so far. The mag suspension works well enough to absorb the extra harshness, so the car just feels tighter and more responsive now with little to no downside.

mine started off well but got sloppy after ~8 track days

Data or it didnt happen. You are talking GT1/trans am territory times from tires only? If its true....call Gannasi and ask for your seat in a prototype.

Data to come because as mentioned it hasn't happened yet. Here's the horrible 1:50 warm-up session lap right before the slicks corded:

If you watch closely, the data overlay is behind the video a good couple seconds at least. That coupled with the fact that the timer and video stopped before you had reached the flagstand makes me think that you didn't actually run a :50, probably closer to a :54 or so.

I haven't watched the video, and I will keep an open mind because I have never driven on those Michelins or a ZR1 on those Michelins. However, I can count on my own hands and toes the number of cars I have personally seen run sub 50's on the 2.9 mile circuit (6 or 8 were there this weekend), and even less I haven't personally seen. I can also tell you I could count on one hand, the number of street cars to come CLOSE to sub 50's, all of which are Ferrari's or GT3 Cup cars on full slicks. There is a long time corvette racer in ST1 who runs a well prepped C5 with full aero and on R100 Hoosiers 305/335 combo with just over 500rwhp and I think his best is a 46.6 but would have to ask him. I am not sure who the "Weathers" car is, but would like some info on it to check it out. Fast cars are fun...you can usually learn something from the car prep or driver.

Not trying to bust your nuts too much but running in the 40's is a pretty elite club at TWS. Race cars are getting faster, however, sometimes the numbers/facts don't add up. One thing that caught my eye in your post is you mention 2.7 config....it's 2.9. If you are only measuring 2.7...yep 40's baby! It may have only been a typo but again, things that caught my eye.

And I'm serious about the Ganassi thing....If you run a 46 by bolting on tires to a STOCK ZR1....make the call, you should quit your day job and live the dream.

Uh, the vid starts at the start/finish and the vid ends at the start/finish. Youtube has the video length at 1:51 which is obviously a round.

So, you think a 54? Okay, sure. Again, I'm not proud of this lap time as it was a warm-up session right before my tires corded, so it's not like I'm hanging my hat on it.

Mike Weathers ran a 1:45 this past weekend with NASA with his pretty heavily modded (but still fairly stock interior Z06). I was a few seconds back of Mike at my first NASA time trial at MSR 3.1 earlier this year. I ran a 2:20 (running NEW, but discontinued 2 year old continental tires and the same stock alignment, stock seats, everything) to his 2:17-2:18.

I meant 2.9. Typo. Not even sure there is a 2.7 config? Only ran TWS over the past decade plus CW or CCW 2.9.

TBD again. I'm sorry I even brought it up my 46-47 goal. I just wish I had come down to TWS this past weekend, but my wife was having surgery, so I couldn't make it. I can assure you starting from a 50 and doing the alignment and seats (those two mods made an unbelievable difference alone), plus a few other tweaks and fresh slicks, the time is dropping significantly from 50.

Cool and no worries man! However, that video doesn't line up with the track data. Data shows you in T3 and video shows you entering T4. Velocities are all out of wack too. With the skippiness of the video, I'm thinking youtube's upload hosed the time. Seems like it's skipping ahead in some areas...but that could just be me.

Again, doesn't matter but the video time is accurate, but as mentioned in the description, the refresh rate of the data made it worthless. That is from an iPhone 5 and Harrys laptimer. I have a transponder and Aim Solo DL now so no issues in the future.

Is Weathers car grey with the carbon wing, and black wheels? If so, he's been at every damned NASA race I've been to in the past 2 years with that car. I think I've even seen him at MSR or Eagles Canyon on a random weekday. He must be a member.
