The issue I have with it is he knew the brakes were toast and then went back on track and tried pushing through the back markers which used the brakes even harder. Trust me, I know what brake fade LOOKS like and sadly, feels like. It sucks.

I didn't watch the last 4 minutes of the video just in case I had to see some nice old cars get bent up.

Those cars are usually 3200lbs and 500+ hp...not a good combo for tiny brakes.
Brake fade is downright scary, I had a MC that was too large and wouldn't clamp down on the rotors like it should have, so I spent a lot more time on the brakes heating them up, went into a corner underneath a guy and damn near took both of us out, I didn't drive in as hard the rest of that race, and the MC was replaced the next day.

      Whatever size the rules allow.

Guy in the cobra was on the brakes way too hard and too long in every corner after passing the mustang. The cobra tapped his brakes mid corner, so to keep for running up his ass the mustang had to hit the brakes which caused the ass end to step out... I don't think it was brake fade that caused this...

Guys gas pedal work is like a on off switch. I dont know much about road racing, but it seems it could lead to trouble unloading the suspension off and on like that.

If you're serious about autocross, and want to actually get into 3rd gear, check out The North Texas BMW Club's Autocross events. WELL worth it, IMHO. (I haven't been in years though, God I miss it!)

It's been a few years for me too, but several other members and I used to go to their events. It is a blast and far more fun that drag racing due to seat time alone.

And even though you would expect the BMW guys to be douches to non BMW participants, they were always welcoming and friendly.
