So after saving many sheckles for the last year, I finally have my front and rear brake setup on the car, fitted and hope to soon test.
I found I had run out of brakes with the Brembo 2000 Cobra R setup and needed a larger rotor that could absorb more heat. That mean going up to a 14" package, but WOW are 18" wheels and tires expensive. So after doing a lot of research, I found there were a couple of rare 14" kits that would fit under some 17" wheels. Problem was those kits are no longer sold as they were on Roush and Saleen cars from 2000 to 2004. I found a new, never installed Roush kit that was complete on ebay for about 1/3 of the new price. SCORE!!!! This upgraded to 14" fronts and 13" vented rear brakes. The kit came with 1pc front rotors that weigh 25lbs each and are mostly for street car applications. After a lot of research and measuring, I found that a Stoptech 2pc rotor would work with some adjustments. Those arrived Friday and I must say, this new setup is SEXXY!!! I hope to have the new GT500/Ford Racing ABS plumbed and wired into the car next weekend but I finished the new shock and brake install this weekend. Just waiting on the wheels to arrive. No more fading brakes or boiling brake fluid for this guy!!!!
Sorry for the big pictures as links but too lazy to make smaller.
Enjoy!
