Most cops are cool. Some even race their cars on weekends. That is why it is frustrating to get hassled by an uncool one. The bad egg that makes them all look bad.

I'll be at the 8-21 event as well. I was not happy with my performance.

Been there, done that WITH an instructor in the car..... Told me to line up WAY to the right of the starting line "As close as you can get to the timing light and dump the clutch." Neither of us expected the car to step out right. It did. $100 bucks later..... BMW CCA North Texas had a new light.
