$500 per car, $100 per driver, transponder rental, camping, practice, crew/spectators, etc.

MSR Cresson is already booked every weekend of every year.
If the Lemons crew wants a date they have to start negotiating early!
And if it is too expensive for Lemons, then another organization will gladly take the date.

It's simple supply and demand, nothing else.
The CMRA has been racing there for 10+ years
And Lone Star Track Days have also been there for 10+ years.

        Are you talking about TWS?

I believe the owner at Cresson doesn't want the Lemons riff-raff making a mess of his track. Not to mention, the track is booked every weekend and has been for years. As far as weekend rental, they are all about the same. Track rentals usually run about $15k to 17k a weekend depending on how much support staff and wreckers you want around. EMS costs a bunch. Insurance is actually rather cheap.

Cresson recently had a nasa race where they claimed to have 200 cars. I don't believe it but maybe they counted tow vehicles and spectators.

Murph, Chumpcar will be at TWS in a couple weeks....just don't bring a car with a huge fuel cell.

Maybe because they don't want to put up with Jay Lamm's ego and bullshit?

yeah the Lemons crowd does bring a common man bastard son kinda feel to the track. Thats why I like it. I've had a few scoffs a couple months back when I did a track day at ECR by some Porsche guys when I told them I race Lemons. I just smiled!

I've watched one Chumpcar race and there was alot of hitting going on. We do have a 500 dollar car (actually 300) I've put three motors and three trannies (and a fourth going in this summer.) I'd rather not have a crunch up car for all the wrenching I've done. Bumps and trading paint all day but no so much bumper cars. That was only one race that I saw though. I could be wrong.

What is the max fuel cell you can run at Chump!? 55 gallon barrell would fit perfect in the back seat of my big ass Tore-Ass!

IIRC, a certain grey SHO got love tapped by a certain veined Neon quite a bit.

I have no idea what you are talking about!

As far as fuel cell size in chump, it's limited to +2 gallons over stock...but if you ran chump before the rule change, you get grandfathered. We built our car to the 2010 rules...but did not run in 2010.

Chump promoter is an idiot but that's a story for another day.

was at TMS for Chump and saw some bumping and grinding more than Lemons. Could have just been that race.

They kinda dissapeared. What happened. To them?

Congrats on the 1st in the national points chase, BTW.

dunno. I guess they didn't like everyone dissing on them with a track prepped $4k race car. That thing has got coolers/pumps for every fluid in the car. Cobra brakes with Eibach and Koni struts. yep $500 car.

Thanks on the points chase. It has been a battle. During the races this year on our 3 car team we've changed 3 transmissions, muliple wheel bearings, gas tank necks, sway bar endlinks, cam sensors, mafs.

Last race in my car we had no 3rd and 4th gear on Sunday. I drove 3.5hrs straight in 5th gear making laps. I guess you get really good gas mileage that way! Talk about boring but we kept a top 10 finish for points.

Are we talking about the grey SHO that was probably touching 140mph at TMS? For sure a cheater car...
