    I concur, she's a top 10 member automatically.

As for advice though, don't stage with your back tires and if it starts to get loose let off the gas and try again next time. There isn't any reason to try and set records the first time out. Also make sure the A/C is off well before you roll up to the line, if it's dripping from the evaporator they'll back you off.

Also if you don't have to, don't get behind a serious drag car at all during their burnout. Unless you like dents and broken glass of course. Their tires will grab any rocks, bolts, loose gravel or whatever and shoot them backwards. I've never personally had any damage but I have seen a nice Corvette end up with a hole through it's bumper cover and a busted radiator before.

Your biggest gains and frankly the most challenging part of drag racing will be launching and your reaction times. Anyone can hammer down the gas and bang gears, getting off the line as quickly as possible and quick reaction times are what wins races though.

Damn good advice right here especially the last section bout reaction time and getting off the line. A good time to learn would be at the cruise cause we will all be out there and plenty of advice or just take some friends from here and make a day out of it

On street tires just go around the water box, doing a burnout on street tires makes them greasy and slick and does more harm than good, and tears up the track for cars with slicks. On the tree, try to leave when the last amber goes out, you might have to play with your timing on this depending on how fast the car is and how it works. You will probably only shift into 3rd or 4th depending on 1/8 or 1/4 mile.

            Shooting in Lorena, Texas

Police in Lorena, TX about 10 miles south of Waco, issued arrest warrants for Shaver April 2, 2007 on charges of aggravated assault and possessing a firearm in a prohibited place. This was in connection with an incident outside a tavern, Papa Joe's Texas Saloon in Lorena on March 31, 2007, in which Shaver shot a man, Billy Bryant Coker, in the face with a handgun. Coker's injuries were reported as not life-threatening.

Witnesses interviewed by police report hearing Shaver saying "where do you want it?" and then, after the shot was fired, "Tell me you are sorry" and "No one tells me to shut up." Coker told police the attack was unprovoked. Shaver's attorney declared that Shaver had shot Coker "in self-defense" after Coker threatened Shaver with a knife.[4]

After unsuccessfully attempting to surrender to police in Austin, TX, who were unaware of the warrant, Shaver turned himself in at McLennan County Jail in Waco, TX on Tuesday, April 3. He was released after an hour on $50,000 bond and gave his scheduled performance at Waterloo Records in Austin that evening,[5][6] where he reportedly told fans, "Don't forget to pray for me, and tell your kids to pray for me, too."

He was acquitted in a Waco court on April 9, 2010 after testifying that he acted in self-defense.[7][8]

The Texas based country musician, Dale Watson, wrote a song about the incident titled "Where Do You Want It?" The song has been recorded by Whitey Morgan and the 78's and appears on their second album, Whitey Morgan and the 78's, on Bloodshot Records.[9]
