2011 5.0 "cammed" idle

Not sure if anyone has heard this before... but this is a 5.0 with a tune on it that adjusts the variable valve timing to make the car sound like it has cams installed.

According to the other thread I read there is no performance gains, it just sounds mean as hell.

The car has an axle back system w/no cats.

Ehhh, but it's still mechanically a loping cam, not quite the same. The technology is a bit more advanced than an electric BOV.

Seems kind of silly. Lack of variable valve timing might fuck with mileage, too, and for no power gain? Pass.

Technology doesn't matter, the INTENT is the same: make someone think you have something that you don't so people will think you're uber cool.

With the VVT on the new 5.0, a loping idle will have to be something you want. Did you know the new 5.0 has factory wide band 02s on both banks? The VVT allows the ECU to adjust for optimal fuel consumption at all times, idle included.

I saw an '11 stang bust off an 11.17 at Crandall last sunday. I'm sure he was hitting it with a 150 shot, but still pretty impressive.

there is a video around here somewhere where one ran a 10.74 on a 125 shot with just a CAI and tune i think it was.
