I saw an '11 stang bust off an 11.17 at Crandall last sunday. I'm sure he was hitting it with a 150 shot, but still pretty impressive.

How about an 11.12 naturally aspirated?

There was a white 2011 yesterday at Kennedale running a bunch of 7.0-7.2s. I'm not sure what it had, but the only external evidence was slicks and skinnys.

Not a single thing was done to my car that wasn't functional in a performance aspect.

Faking a loping cam idle to impress friends is a ricer mod. I know what vvt is, I know how it was played with to create the affect, and I could do the same with my car. It doesn't increase power for what he's done. This is the same as adding a turbo tip to the muffler.

I know that is hard to wrap your head around but read it a few times over and you might comprehend what I'm saying.

Why does it have to be put that way? Maybe the owner just likes the way it sounds?

Are you saying that any asthetic mods is only for other people and not for the owner himself?

I get the point you are trying to make - form follows function. But in this case I don't think changing the sound of the car is a ricer mod at all. It sounds better than stock in my opinion. I like my cars to sound like a hot rod personally and the fact that can be done with the '11 is pretty neat even if it doesn't have any performance gain to do it.

A ricer mod is a FWD car with a spoiler on the rear, kinda like what the Cobalt SS has on it.
