I made a post on s197forum about the Boss 302 intake, everyone was bitching about it only making another 6whp peak.
In essence, the stock intake falls off at 6600-6800rpm, the Boss graph I saw maintained 420ish rwhp from 6600-7500rpm. You'd be getting almost 20 to the tire in the useable part of the curve WOT.
