  • 1/4 mile tracks?

Where are all the 1/4 mile tracks in the metroplex? Is TX Raceway in Kennedale an 1/8 or a 1/4?

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

Their timing lights seem to be broken...for the last 18 years or so.

I never got the 1/4 mile stuff. Went a few times but after the 1/8 all I was doing was pressing the gas peddle and wasting nitrous.

Some people like it to last more than 7-8 seconds .

I've been out to Sanger a couple of times but I've never been down a 1/4. The 1/8 is ok I guess but if I f up on the start I don't have enough track to make up any speed. That and I'd like to try a race where I can get into 4th gear and triple digit mphs. I'd also like to go down the 1/4 just to see what it runs but I'm not going to drive the ole nag out to Ennis to find out.
What's a decent time in the 1/8 for a street car? What does the typical '14-'16 gt run?

Hey it was the early 2000s low 7s was a quick street car.

I just always felt the 1/8 was a driver's race.

If your not in the 5s in the 1/8 now you ain't shit.

5's azz, I'll be happy w an 8. I'm talking real street cars, not a "street car" that's hauled to the track on a trailer. I went to Sanger in July and I didn't see too many 5 second passes.

There is a track called Yellow Belly in Grand Prairie. It's 8th mile but you will love the atmosphere.

You should easily run a high 8 with a late model 5.0 GT, even with grandma driving. But yeah it takes 5s to be considered a fast street car these days. A 300hp fogger, some slicks and a trans brake could get you there.

Runs 5.5's in the 1/8th, long hauled the power tour, getting ready to go on drag week shortly. It's a street driven street car.
