  • Stock Coyote 8th mile times

Plan on taking my 14 to the track...car is pretty stock except for filter and muffler delete. Car is a 6 speed! I've ran a few SS's, CTSV's and SRT8's and did pretty well. What kind of times are you all's Coyote's running on the 8th? and at what track? Plan to have it tuned at HPP soon.

    8.1-8.4's @ 87-89mph
You will need tire and some good shifting to get lower with those mods listed.

This has been my experience at redline/northstar/dallas raceway.

There's a member here that went 7.9's with drag radials only. 7.91 if I remember correctly.

Thanks fellas...I will post up times once I make it out. Traction is the main issue with this car...that is the only reason cars stick with me from a dig or a 20ish roll.

Inside is not bad at all...I can hear radio/phone fine with no problem driving normal. Not as loud as my 97 SVT.

This is what I see all the stock ones on stock tires run with a stick.

                  2012 GT M6 with OEM 3.73 gear
stock tune, stock paper filter, stock exhaust except GT500 mufflers
full interior, all the stuff in the trunk, 3/4 tank
                  Whiteline shifter bushing
                  Eibach Sportline springs
cast Shelby 20" CS40 wheels all around, Nitto 305/35-20 DRs
                  +1660 DA

I've run it in really good DA before, but it was never quicker. hahaaa

This was the second pass the car ever made. It's a pretty consistent 7.9 car, maybe I should go bracket race it.

Experience.... experience. Back when I was racing regularly I could cut good lights and run very consistent fast times for what my car was as well. That's good driving no doubt, but experience and practice make the drag racer.

Yeah 46T those are some good times! Do you all on street tires leave with traction control on? I would assume so?

No, I turn all the nannies off.
Easier to fight traction with my right foot than to let TC bog the car.

Don't just bump the Traction Control button - keep it down until you see 'ADAVANCETRAC OFF' on the dash. Just like he said, you'll have better times pedaling the throttle than waiting for TC to recover after it cuts the throttle for you.
