No thanks, no need for that turbo and it would require a full combination change. I'm still T4 and want to stay that way, street car

If I did a different turbo it would most likely be when the new billet wheel technology hits the 4788 though

          Damn

I figured you were bluffing with a little turbo and actually packing a 4788 with 1200hp. Props to you, playa

it made 1200 rwhp with the T76.. why would he need a 4788 for that???

            • Small motors like the 2jz can make way more power with a given turbo. Pressure ratio and postion in the compressor map are way different from a big v8. Same reason a evo can make 900awp with a billet 67mm.

              • Has anyone run a pte88 midframe t4 on a supra? It seems like people jump from a t4 76 to a t6 based turbo.

That's what I'm sayin! I haven't noticed any Terminators make that kind of power with a 76mm Hellion setup, so I didn't even come close to expecting it from an even smaller motor.

What's the complete setup on his rig to make 1200, David?

You won't see any cobras making 1200 with a 76 either. The highest one we have built made alittle over 1000 rw with a precision billet wheel 76 and a 6spd. Like I stated above, a small motor can always make more power with a given turbo. But peak numbers aren't everything...Manny has beat several local supras in his cobra, that made a lot more power on the dyno. Torque and power through the curve go along way in a race Look at our tech Jays coupe. It only makes 640 to the wheels...but it makes 800 ft pounds of torque, and it makes full power the sec you go wot. Maybe that's why it traps almost 150mph in the 1/4.

a similar setup supra that made 200 rhwp less went 8.7 @16xish... stock 6 speed.. stock rear end..

the 1000 rwhp supras of 5 years ago are totaly different from today.. the recent setup cars have a power band wide enough to keep the car close to peak power and under the curve on the shift.

For sure...I'm in no way saying supras are slow. I'm always impressed how fast some of the 6spd supras are with the right setup. And nothing beats the sound of a 2jz under boost

Billet 76mm. Good rods/pistons. Lots of fuel and 37lbs. The car actually could be turned up if we wanted

My car makes pretty good power from 6500-9200. And at redline it's still over 1100rw. I'd love to see some mid 160mph trap speeds
