That makes me sad

ONE of the Dozens or so GTR's going to the Texas invitational went to the track a few weekends ago.
the owner.. who hadnt Drag raced in about 20 years..clicked off a 8.68 @ 164 on mid boost level.
then the tuner got in.. turned it up a little ( not near KILL), and ran 8.1@172...


and then they drove the car home...


the number of cars in the 1500-1800 rwhp range @ Texas invitational is stagering.. and keep in mind none of them are gutted out shit boxes that roll off a trailer, have a 5 gallon fuel cell to make a pass and then go home. They are all Street cars with FULL interior and all the creature comforts.. its fucking CRAZY... i my car makes decent power and im not even at the same table lol

They're talking about an AMS alpha16 kit. So that on top of the car is about 350k.

I have a couple friends involved in helping run the thing. They were going to ask me to help with tech but I gotta get paid for that! No volunteer stuff.

I think they have been doing some testing for some serious "roll racing" using the oval at TWS but that could be another group of the same people.
