  • Either way would have to buy a new turbo. With the gt47 there's only so much power you can make. If it makes 1450 depending on what it runs and what nitrous cars run things can be adjusted.

Sheffield what et do you think you can run with a gt47?

80mm max and no precision turbos has to be a box stock s480 or garrett or equivalant that makes it affordable and attainable for everyone. 3250lbs
      no canted valve heads

      keep the BBC a .36 jet @ 3250 lbs

      NO F1R or F1X Blower

      adjust weight as needed

All Combos should be 1350HP at the crank Max This should put the class back to the old days 5.10 -5.40

            • Okay so if Sheffield is saying he can do that then why won't the king brothers or Scott buy those turbos? Why was they so set on the 88/98?

They can't go fast with a gt47, maybe?

Cause they cant get there cars to run right with a lf88 or mf88 so why would they want to step down to a smaller turbo

                  139 MPH = 5.15 -5.20's 1350 HP
                  145 MPH = 4.95 - 5.0 1500 HP
                  150MPH = 4.80 - 4.90 1700 HP
                  155 MPH = 4.65 - 4.75 1900 HP

at the flywheel@3300lbs this is were your at Period I have done it.

                  • a lot going on in this thread. went to work and it was only 2 pages. Get home and its 17 pages now. At least it made for some good reading in the racing bench.

oh i'm to slow, I will just sit back and read. I can only run in the 6's with my 88 turbo. shit its so old I have no idea what kind of 88 it is lol

I'm not bitching about the rules my only complaint was I think boosted got miss lead on the potential of said old turbo
And I could be wrong it's happened before
Boosted donated his time to research the turbo deal and he doesn't have a dog in the hunt. Thanks Boosted for the help. Thus the reason to drop the n2o pill from a .040 jet to a .036 jet to have at point where we can have some parity in the class.

You have all heard this before, a lot of work and research goes into making a set of rules for a heads up class. It's never going to be perfect. With that being said, we do our best to create a class we can all race in that is not biased towards one combo or the other. Most, if not all of us, will have to make changes to run the limited class. We are all in the same boat. Please remember we all have a vested interest in the class in some form or fashion. Build/change your car to the class rules of the limited class or step up to the x275 class. It's that simple, you have choices. I for one have to make changes. Camshaft, converter and gearing to mention a few.

I fell and believe the set of rules will draw more cars and participation and more interest as these cars are cars that the average person can relate to.

Let's get em ready and race and have fun!

                      Peace Out

                          • I just got off the phone with percision myself. The 88/98 is rated at 1500hp and they told me they can make more with it. The x275 is rated at 1600hp. The guy from percision told me in the right hands with a local guys combo not mike Kelley could kill our class under current rules with the 88/98. He told me the best bet would be the turbos we are letting in now. A nitrous car with a .036 pill or .040 pill won't make 1500hp.

Its good to know that I didn't pull the information I got out of thin air. Thanks for taking the time to pick up the phone and call Precision so that you could support what I relayed earlier in the thread. Everyone has that option. So now then, where does that leave turbo rules for this class?

                              • So if the 98/88 is a no go, is there another LF that we could all agree on that carries a weight penalty?

I don't mind buying another turbo. Taking weight out of the car is my problem.
