Good times for small mods. I think it would run in the sevens without spending a dime. Run it after icing it,stage as shallow as possible, unbolt the sway bar end links and run it without the belt. Just about every car I have ever run has picked up about .2 to 3 tenths in the 1/4 by removing the belt.
Its free and easy stuff to do.

I was thinking about removing the sway bar while I was there, but I was too lazy lol. I'll pack some Ice and a fan next time. Maybe a short belt, but no way without a belt.

LOL at the "no way without a belt" I have been doing that since the first time I ever went to the track........ in 1982 with my brand new 82GT. It works and works good. You have to use your head and dont leave the car running in the lanes and shut it off as much as possible but I will promise you nothing will happen to your car and its worth atleast 2 tenths.
I watched my friends LS2 GTO go from 12.1 to 11.80 just by removing the belt after he told me for two hours that it would over heat and he wouldnt really see any gains.
He now pulls the belt on his LS2 Vette when he is looking for a little gain.

You can run with no belt down the track. Why are you mentioning anything about no brakes?

Don't run it without a belt. Get an electric water pump and get a short
Belt to bypass the power steering.

Hydroboost. If I wanted to run a short belt, I'd do an electric water pump. I'm not going to go that far though. It's almost stock right now lol

Yeah and you aren't accounting for that fact that high RPM's and no coolant flow are going to create major hot spots around the cylinder and in the head. Good way to warp a head.

Im Just trying to tell the guy what I do for a couple of tenths and like I said. I have done this for over 30 years on many different cars from my 82 GT in 1982 and I have never had a problem with over heating or stopping.
In 31 years of racing I have made well over 2000 passes so Im not some kid spouting out about stuff that I know nothing about.
It is funny though to see people who have never done it try to tell me that it doesnt work or it will over heat or you cant stop.

I was drag racing when some of you were still swinging in your old mans balls. I kid I kid.

Im not saying its a better idea then a short belt or an EWP because by running no belt the thing that I dont like is that you loose your power steering (short belt will to) and if you get out of shape it can be hard to steer without it. My brand new 01 WS6 went from 109 MPH to 111 MPH back to back with nothing more than taking the belt off.and I ran that car for two years and would always take the belt of for the last pass of the day to see what it would do.

Hydro boost brake booster.. Without power steering pressure you won't have power brakes.
