I hate to "nit-pick", but the true rarity left it when the 428 crank went in. I'd much rather have the 427 crank (and the shorter stroke and RPM's that come with it). A steel crank vs. cast is not a good trade. Also, the 427 crank is internally balanced, where the 428 is not.

Just speaking from an "old school" perspective. I cut my teeth on FE's and 385 series motors.

agree. not sure who he is marketing the engine at. on one hand he talks about the rarity of the engine and nos parts and on the other talks about the non original crank. still pretty cool, however i never trust a seller who says he has never leaned on a motor because "it scared him". leads me to believe he is not use to real power and he doesnt have a good gauge on what scary is...

It tells me he's full of shit and doesn't know what he's talking about.

EDIT: LMFAO @ him saying "this motor kicks in at 7500rpms."

No shit. A 427 (with the proper crank and LeMans rods) had a "recommended"7500rpm redline.

If you're all about looks, buy it for $16,500. As an original piece, the crank is of utmost importance.

$16,500, and the crank's been replaced, and the bore is .030 over? I don't trust it. I'd rather spend $16,500 here: http://www.survivalmotorsports.com/

didn't say i'd buy it, just that it would look good in my car no matter what crank it was in it. I bet it makes good power like it is(after you took it apart and checked everything out, couldn't buy a uses motor without looking in it).

My first love was FE engines and I know them like the back of my hand. A TP headed stroker motor will be hard pressed to put down 600hp on an engine dyno. His price is way too high; 8k would be about fair.

FE's are so bad ass. Too bad FE = Fuckin Expensive.

My friends Dad has a bad ass '67 Fairlane with a 427 in it. He has 8 spare complete 427's in his shop.
