JOHN SHEFFIELD TAKES TOP HONORS AT JUNE ULTIMATE STREET NIGHT
Sheffield Takes Win and Sets Track Record at Texas Motorplex
ENNIS, Texas (June 18, 2013) – John Sheffield topped Tommy O’Donnell during Saturday’s Ultimate Street Night event featuring the Texas 275 class at Texas Motorplex.
Sheffield not only took the win, but set the track record with a 4.82-second pass shortly after Mike Kelly had turned in a 4.86 to lead the way.
Odie Spurgen ran in the 4.8-second range all night as the Texas 275 racers continue to go quicker and faster at the fastest track in Texas.
“There was a lot of great racing and it just seems like these guys are turning in quicker and quicker times each time they come out to the Motorplex,” Texas Motorplex Competition Director, Eric McClelland, said. “We want to thank everyone for coming out and supporting the Texas 275 racers. We had a lot of racers from all over Texas and even a few from Oklahoma. This event is more fun every time we open the gates.”
Ultimate Street Nights feature the best in street racing, grudge matches and more. Gates open and racing starts at 8 p.m. and racing will go until 2 a.m. one Saturday each month continuing through November.
Ultimate Street Nights continues July 20, followed by events on August 17, October 5 and November 16. It’s just $15 to race and $10 to watch.
All NHRA safety rules will be in effect and Ultimate Street Nights are open to any make and model – whether the car is street legal or a race car.
