I would go if there were actually other people going too, but I am not going to drive 130 miles round trip just to meet a few people and race 1/8th mile. Not when I have Dallas Raceway 5 miles away.

The track was great for the first couple of hours, but no matter the effort, the street tires wear it out quickly.

The site isn't dying and the track isn't likely to go anywhere any time soon. Rumors are just that, rumors.

I'll take the blame for promoting it, as it's my doing (or lack thereof), however, we didn't get dates till WELL into 2013.

There's no rhyme or reason as to how our turnouts work. One time we've had overcast and high % for chance of rain and had record attendance - the next time, like Sunday, we've had perfect weather and low attendance.

This is the 10th year for me to do this, and possibly the last - business is busy and takes a lot of time. The one coming up this fall will be promoted a lot more and will have some good prize funds (sponsors have already spoken up in some instances). It is quite possible that one of my employees will take over promoting this event, just not sure which one yet. We have a couple people starting this month....

x2 except I had 2 bonuses. I only live 15 minutes from there and knocked out the other 7 cars in the bracket class to take the top prize. The cash would have been nice and if you don't believe me just ask the wife. Hopefully the next one will be better and I will have the same results.

I had a pretty good time. Learned a few things. Got the car more sorted out days after the cruise. Lol. It will be good and ready by the next one.

Site dying ? Biggest lie I've read ever....
Whiners can come up with all excuses
If you really like to hang out and have a good time then no excuse.
I work Saturdays and Sundays and guess what I was there cause I wanted to be there and planned ahead.
Shooting for October already have the day off requested.

I'm sure Denton will bring the cars out. It always seems to at least.

Good video. Brings back memories - 1:27 shows 'phoenix383' (The silver Chevy II) who's no longer with us.

Damn! Saw a lot of old school cars I haven't seen in a long time there.

What about a dfwmustangs gtg once or twice a year. Not at a track. A big restaurant or something, then go out for a cruise afterward. But taking the place of the track gtg (which is what I prefer), just throwing the idea it there.
