I'm pretty sure it would be the opposite of interesting.

i have raced a PI'ed 96 5spd in my A/T 88 and walked him on top end. at the track he ran a 9.5? @ 75 and my daily went 9.43 @ 76 in the 1/8. this is slow.

Did he have anything else other than the swap? I've got a tune, 3.73's, and straight pipes so that always helps a bit

no longer than your full pi head motor swap. biggest expense besides the engine is the special intake so you dont run shitty adapter plates.

edit: its not super fast but it was running mid 8.6- 8.8 in the 1/8 with the 5 speed. havent been out to the track since i swapped in the t56 and alumin driveshaft

if money was a factor you could have ran the adapter plates. ive seen the 5.4 motors go for as little as 500 bucks at junk yards. just gotta do some shopping around. i think i ran around on mine for 6 months before dropping the money on having it tuned. just not WOT or higher rpm runs. except once hah, had to have a little fun.

5.4 definitely has alot more potential I'd love to have one under the hood some day.
