  • 91coupemike: track results.

Went out and made 3 passes tonight. Just getting a feel for the car now. It's obvious now that the suspension needs some serious attention.

    1st pass:
    .281 rt
    2.05 60'
    5.54 330'
    8.38 660'
    87.7 mph

    2nd pass
    .044 rt
    1.83 60'
    5.24 330'
    8.05 660'
    88.5 mph

    3rd pass
    .017 rt
    1.71 60'
    5.06 330'
    7.85 660'
    89.2 mph

    I need more seat time.

      Suspension is a joke really.

Stock control arms, 2inch $100 lowering springs. 10" tire on a 7" wheel. It kept getting sideways in the burnout and I checked the psi each time. Started at 17, then 15 the 12. Both sides were the same, so I'm guessing the diff is shitting out. Still has more in it.

control arms are your friend... Id get some that are fully adjustable to set the rear end square in the car and to adjust the pinion angle to plant on the hit... that was the biggest thing I noticed when I had the pinion angle setup correctly was how hard the car wanted to take off vs spinning and going sideways.

wider wheels will make the car more stable as well and have less of a wagging effect at the top of the track.

That's the plan just unsure on which brand I want to go with.

Nice times! I see lots of potential here, I run a whole second faster than you but only 7mph more. you should be in the 6's soon

Nice time on that last pass. Keep your rpms up on burn out of you're not. If your rpms get too low the car will start going sideways even if both tires are spinning.

I had some Mega bite jr's on my old coupe, just had lowers, stock uppers. worked really well. I had SVE upper and lowers in my hatch, they were ok. better than stock for sure. If you're on a budget buy the SVE's from mustangs unlimited. like 139 bucks or so.
