I had a car that made 262hp/290tq that ran a shitload faaster than a 8.4 in the 8th on drag radials. If you really beat that Cobra (and he knew he was racing you), you shouldn't have a problem with limping out a mid 8 as it sits.

And I agree with you. I'm curious on track times too.
With a 255 drag radial with launch springs and control arms it should be hell out the hole.
Skinnies still won't yank a wheel on DRs with a full-weight, stock-motored fox. No sway bar will make it a sluggish top end. Welded subframes will aid in giving it a more level lift.

Drag radials will hook and hold just fine.
Sway bar will aid in weight transfer as well as springs.
Control arm and sub frames will make it level launch.
