Im curious how he ended up with one as well. They are not sold to general public yet. Suppose to be government purchase only

You can find them on Ebay. I think they were only made in 2011. He bought his in Ohio w/5k miles on it. Has a full cloth interior, full 18" plastic wheel covers, refrigerator white, etc. Cool car!

I actually found out why the plug melted, I believe it to be from high end detonation that was caused from oil getting into the combustion chamber from leaky valve seals. I determined this after I put in a new plug, drove it around and pulled the plug, sure enough it was coated in oil.

The head gasket being blown is still in the air, the only time I see bubbles or steam come from the cap is after the engine was warmed up and the thermostat is open. It could be from a disturbance in the water from the water pump.

I actually went and hit the bottle a few more times the other night. Pulled the plug and checked it, it looked fine just coated in oil. Btw, ran an octane booster to try and help offset the increased chance of detonation with the oil.

This week is the last week the car will be stock. So either way I'm not worried about it, I don't even drive it as a friend let me borrow his truck so I can the h/c/i.

I highly doubt that oil is what caused your detonation. It was starving for fuel in that cylinder if anything.

Na they made very few in 11 but are making them for 12, 13 etc.
We have quite a few but cant keep them on the road. They have problem after problem after problem. Pretty fun to drive though.

lol Only recall we got was for the air bag harness GM had on the floor. We are having windows falling off track, inst cluster going blank, harmonic balancers seperating, air bag malfunction lights staying on, window trim falling off, wheel bearings coming apart,.....etc etc etc. We have had 6 cars that have spent a year combined in the shop. And one that has spent 4 months itself.
They need to get their shit together on these cars . NOt like this is a new concept.
They have plenty of sister cars to these.

That sucks. In 4.5 years & 78k miles, I have collapsed strut tower bushings & 3rd gear shift flare. But the lowering spings and blower may have contributed to those problems.
