Ran my first 5.0 yesterday

To my knowledge it was stock with a manual. I said it once and I will say it again, I am impressed with those cars. I got a couple of cars on him out of the hole and he stayed with me the rest of the way. I only got him out of the hole because he was spinning. I almost always have the advantage from a dig with my automatic. But as slow as my car is, I will take all the advantages I can get.

I really wish I could afford to get one of those.

Yeah im with you. I want a new 5.0 too. But with gas at $3.50 a gallon at the cheap time of year & $4.50 right around the corner. Its gonna be mortgage payment to have one & pay insurance & put gas in it & make the car payment

I cant comment because you left what you drive/have. Iirc its a older camaro with 350hp or so. In my auto 5.0 i have raced a new 12 wrx beat him pretty bad and it had a stage2. Bmw335 i twin turbo, he he hung better than the subbie but i started pulling away once i got going. 03 cobra this one was from a dig and it was all about the 5.0 he didnt catch me til 130 and from what i understand it had a ported blower, solid rear end and a host of other mods.

I would think they would get pretty good gas milage. As long as your foot is out of it most of the time. You are right about the payment tho.

Also got to run a very sweet 280Z with 5.3/cammed and T56 tranny. That car just looks like loads of fun. But he was spinning too and I do mean spinning.

I have only raced a couple of new 5.0's but for sure factory stock i would like a chance at a bolt on version
