..and to clarify, the ice thing may have really been in the rules, I didn't care much about that to be honest. We weren't going to beat the car up over something like that, so we just dropped out.

I just didn't understand not bieng able to add ice before 3 passes. It drives fine on the street without it.

how can you even begin to say this if you werent there for yourself? or do you always base your feelings on other peoples opinions?

im sorry it didnt work out for you brooks and tony, i know ya'll put alot of time into it. but i still people the event was managed a hell of alot better than last years and i hope next year will be even better than yesterdays. i got my best 60 fts ever saturday but even without the i think the even was better managed on all the other aspects. knowing what i know about northstar and their "changes" i would rather go to ennis to run or even have a dfwm cruise.

not trying to kick dirt on your shoes brooks, just saring my opinion as a amature racer.

Steve im going off my past fun ford events at ennis. If things have changed cool, but i vowed never to attend another one way back then. It was a huge waste of time and money for me. The cars i went to watch i could see all the time on the street or at other events.

          The vendor booths blew ass.

The only reason to go was for the swap meet and just to hang with your buddies imho.

Any details on that car? What turbo kit? That thing was in beast mode when I saw it ripping down the track.

Even track prep for the Nationals is sub-par...I have watched sooo many dragsters in the last couple of years blow their tires up in smoke right after they launch.

It seems as though the shitty track started after they re-did the burnout box???? Not sure why this would effect the track but it seems as though thats about when the shitty track conditions started to show up

edit: and yes brooks, I saw that car on the first pass turn right towards the wall as soon as he crossed the 60ft

                  It's a 408 with a 98MM turbo, air/water intercooler, etc. I did the turbo kit a few years back.

In full agreement here...I've never seen a more piss poor operation. They had no idea what they were doing all the way from tech, to running the staging lanes, to overall track management. I used to go to the Motorplex b/c it was the model of proper track operation....apparently that flew way out the window somewhere along the way. I haven't been to a Fun Ford event in years....didn't realize how bad it had gotten....they should rename it to Fun Fuzz....b/c that entire event was nothing more than a Beat the heat gathering where they happened to let some Ford people in.

                    I know I won't be back.

What's bad is it's not FFW that is bad. It's the motorplex. I went to Baytown's FFW in march and they ran it really good. So I thought I would go to the Ennis one this year. Ha it was a joke, nobody knew what they were doing. I had to 1 hour in the tech lanes while they cleaned the track. So the tech guy could watch them clean. Then they didn't even tech my car just wrote a number on it.
You could barely hear the announcements, I didn't know what was going on for true street. I will go to Baytown again next year but I am not wasting my time for Ennis again. I will not support this place not even the fall nationals again.

I thought I saw your car there. The tech guy glanced over Tony's car (which is all legal, minus the expired sticker) and said you're good to go.

We had a blast at the NMRA T/S the last few years, and the track was SICK!!

That sucks to hear about the track prep. I wanted to see some 6 second passes at DragWeek tomorrow but that may not happen with a slick track.

That's too bad about the track surface.

It's hard to understand why the track would not have been prepped right - these events can't be expected to grow in popularity without fast cars, and fast cars need a good surface.

The NMRA/NMCA event in Houston has been outstanding for the past couple of years, hope to see you guys down there this year.

I was hoping the same. Now I'm questioning even going..
