  • 2011 Gt..procharger at HPP

HPP is installing a procharger on a well known 2011 GT. Initial numbers are 440rwhp on motor with headers and bolt ons. With 10psi of boost, and only spinning it to 6.2k...we have made 650rwhp on pump gas with only 8-10degrees of timing. These are very initial numbers, as the stock pump is running out of fuel past 6k. We are installing a fuel system as we speak, and plan to do an E85 tune also. With spiining it to 7k, it should make near 700rw on pump gas, and close to 800rw on e85. Not bad for a bone stock 5.0 motor! These are impressive animals

im confused, im not a expert mechanic or anything but i thought the 2011 GT had a compression ratio up in the 11's ???? so how is it that they are procharging and putting turbo's on these things without blowing them to hell? i mean, proper tuning can go a long way but really, on a serious note, with a compression ratio that high, with boost,,, i dont think its gona hold up too well...

Boost loves compression, as long as the combo is correct and tuning is good. Thats the exact reason we are making so much power with only 10psi. This car is getting a built motor anyways, but we havent experianced any detenation yet. We'll see how it goes once final tuning is done and full power pulls are made

technology, i tell ya! i would like to throw the new 5.0 into my car but i will never do it simply because of that compression ratio. would be a cool swap. but anywho, sounds like one hell of a car bein built up so i'll be waitin to see some vids

Boost definitely loves compression, but how strong are the internals in these new 5.0's?

Absolutely nothing wrong with that compression ratio!! I don't get your reasoning?

                      Nice number OP.

JPC is making 802 with a stock block 2011, and BBR is 70x. The 2011's are holding up, seems that the only down fall is the fuel system so far.

Marsh, I might have to have you fine tune mine after the CAI and SCT SF3 tune goes in, probably after the 1st of the year. Nice numbers btw.

This engine is designed to spin higher, so the comp ratio of 11:1 is probably going to be bleed off a bit by the cam overlap once the cam timing is changed by the VVT or whatever it is called. Your dynamic compression would be lower if that is the case. I don't know anything about the cams but that is just a guess. Also, the engine has oil squirters cooling the bottom side of the piston, that helps a lot with cooling the chamber.

I want to see what happens when someone builds one with a swimming pool in the piston, nice rods and a gigantic turbo. I'd love to finance just such an enterprise but fuck me that would be expensive.
