This is the first car they built for the show. I didn't get any pictures of the car after they got it all together. Pretty cool little car. I just did the Ivory outline on the belt line and the lettering on the fire wall.

Fast & Loud is the name of the show. They're building 6 cars, supposed to be one per week. The one that is supposed to be at the drag races is a '53 Ford 2 door sedan. Supposed to be a straight axled gasser, 347/C4, etc.

Of course, I don't know if I am supposed to be letting the cat out of the bag, but I don't think it's any kind of huge top secret deal or anything. I think I'll try to make it out there Friday night. The camera crew are all really cool guys.

He bought a couple cars in '04-05 off jalopyjournal.com, and yes, did a couple things or painted them a different color, and them passed them off as built by him. Even when confronted, he made shit up, like "oh, it didn't even run when I bought it", etc. I believe he sold some company and suddenly came into a whole fuckload of money and then tried to cash-in when the whole rat rod trend came about.

His wife has some money but he owned the Lincoln Press. It is a printing company. He got his money from selling the Lincoln Press, from what I understand.

I'm willing to forgive all that shit if he's serious about making custom cars.

Well, that's part of the whole scandal. He's not making shit, but says he is? Or was? I don't really know. I've just always seen people sneer when gas monkey garage is mentioned, and I've always been curious.

It sounds to me like he bought a couple cars and tried to make a quick buck. One thing about the hot rod industry is guys get super jealous/butt hurt and gossip a whole lot. Seems to me like this is some pretty petty shit.

The specific instance I remember was back in 04-05 and this 18 year-old kid had built a 30-31 5 window coupe, had a build thread on the HAMB, etc, etc, then sold the car to this Gas Monkey guy. Sure enough, he sees it at I believe the Goodguys show at TMS a couple months later, pretty-much exactly as it was sold, except the monkey had spray bombed it flat black(of course). Some interested party was talking to the Gas Monkey guy, and the monkey said his shop built it, etc, etc, and the previous owner of the car called him out, and the Gas Monkey dude basically said you don't know what you are talking about, GTFO. So, I guess if someone else builds something, you rattle can some paint on it, and claim you built it from the ground-up, that's okay? I don't consider that petty shit, especially if you are handing-out business cards for your shop, and claiming your shop did a bunch of work that you didn't do. That would be like me buying a racecar chassis from Wolfe, then handing-out Blansett Enterprises business cards saying I built it, trying to drum-up business. Now, to play Devil's Advocate, that was 7-8 years ago, so I'm sure he has a knowledgeable staff, good fab guys, etc and can perform all the work, but his previous past makes him look like a shady unethical motherfucker to me, but maybe that's just petty shit?

I saw that episode with the model A. When he said his buddy Aaron did the pinstriping I figured it was Crash.

There were a few things I'd have changed about the gasser, but it was pretty sweet. I can't help it I love gassers!

Yeah, I was watching the show and recognized 3 different friends in it, which surprised me.
